Who are we?
Yoga in Schools is a Community Interest Company founded in 2016 to promote healthy bodies, clear minds and thriving lives for the whole school community and beyond.
Our aim is to grow and support Schools & Yoga Teachers to extend the opportunities across education to experience Yoga & mindfulness and all the benefits to body, mind & spirit. Improving physical, mental & emotional health and resilience for all.
We provide schools & communities with Yoga Teachers for everyone; pupils, staff & parents.
We are happy to work with settings on many different opportunities and we can create bespoke offers, dependent on need and requirement.
Why Yoga in Schools?
We are working with Schools & settings nationwide placing our Teachers into new opportunities. To ensure quality and consistency, all of our highly qualified & experienced teachers have been individually checked and verified – Public liability, DBS, Safeguarding.
We advise our Teachers on the latest training and courses available. Together with our sister organisation Teen Yoga, we provide opportunities for CPD and organise annual Instil conference in London to share, ideas, update on latest studies & research and network with other teachers
All of our teacher’s classes follow a specific framework of teaching to ensure pupils nationwide experience Yoga & mindfulness to the highest standard. With this guidance is in place, class plans are created individually to ensure we always listen and meet the requirements of each school setting. Our teachers actively enjoy creating new class plans to fit with School values, curriculum subjects, project work as well as PE & PSE lessons.
For thousands of years, millions of people have experienced yoga’s ability to improve their lives… The development of therapeutic, evidence-based yoga is, I believe, an excellent example of how yoga can contribute to health and healing.
I am very excited about teaching yoga at the school where I am a classroom teacher. I can see how enormously beneficial yoga is going to be for the young people in my school, especially in the run up to exams when the pressure is enormous.
